Outline tide and moon information for August 2010

Moon in August: New Moon 10th, First Quarter 16th, Full Moon 24th, Last Quarter 4rd.
The moon is a principal factor in the state of tides. New and full moons will yield spring tides, first or last quarter neap tides. Springs are very high and very low, neaps moderate movement. Low spring tides will give plenty of beach space available or foreshore to explore. On high spring tides there will be a minimum of beach space and foreshore available.
